The computer lab is well equipped with latest computer hardware and software configurations. Computer education is provided to all the students from first class onwards to generate further interest in computers, so that the students are encouraged to utilise computer labs. Office package and software program has also been installed in each PC.

Math needs practice, interest and brainpower which are fostered by the Math lab. The JDINST Math Lab makes Math simple and fun for students. The lab is well equipped to demonstrate and elucidate any topic. For instance, the ‘RAMANUJAN’S KIT’ has all the components with which every important concept and formula can be proved practically. It also enables the teachers to demonstrate and reinforce Mathematical concepts. Hence, it helps in mental enhancement of students in any area of Math like Algebra, Arithmetic, Calculus, Geometry, Statistics, and Trigonometry etc. Software is the Metamouse which encourages Cooperative Learning and facilitates group activities. Departmental library in the lab helps students to browse through the books on various topics.
Language is essential for expressing ideas, opinions, views, and emotions. One of the essential qualities required today is the command over the English language. In other words, effective oral communication is required for success in life. This is made possible by an English lab. The main objective of this lab is to provide this facility to the student and to hone their skills. Here at JDINST, the Language Lab consists of a teacher module and a student module. The teacher module is provided with the control functions and the student module is provided with the facility to receive recorded lessons and to listen to the lessons and pronunciations. It is designed to enhance the overall communication skills amongst students including pronunciation and accent. The course content of the English Lab has been developed keeping in mind the difficulties that the students generally face. In the lab, the student listens to the lessons pre-recorded by experts. Topics such as accent, rhythm, intonation, consonants and vowels are dealt with separately and extensively. This is followed by an exercise. After listening to the pre-recorded voice, the student can record his/her own voice and compare the correctness of his/her pronunciation. In the teacher module, the teacher can design the lessons according to the need of the student and add new words or sentences for practice, communicate with the student from the teacher module, review the work of the student and maintain the record of the students separately and design student evaluation tests.
